Lionel Meunier – born May 12, 1981 in Clamecy, France – is the bass voice and
director of the early music vocal ensemble Vox Luminis, a group he co-founded in
2004. In his early years, Meunier studied trumpet, recorder, and flute at the
Clamecy Conservatory. He continued his studies at the Institut supérieur de
musique et de pédagogie in Namur. After graduating, he began to focus on his
vocal career, studying at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague. As bass, he
performed with a large number of European orchestras until he co-founded vocal
