Lissa's musical interest originated with her grandfather, an international
barbershop quartet champion, and as a child she'd sing at her local Lutheran
church. "I was always humming," she says, "making up little songs and melodies,
writing poems and putting them to music." At nine she played the lead in an
80-day production of Annie, later teaching herself guitar and playing the local
coffee bar circuit. Moving to LA she secured a residency at Crane's Hollywood
Tavern, which led to a five-track EP Why You Runnin' with Bill Reynolds (of Band
