Blues/soul keyboardist and guitarist Judge Kenneth ‘Lucky’ Peterson was born on
December 13, 1964 in Buffalo, New York. The son of blues guitarist James
Peterson, he learned to play the organ at an early age. His father owned a club
called Governor’s Inn, and Lucky Peterson was witness to many performances by
blues greats, including Willie Dixon, who encouraged him to pursue a career in
the blues. In 1971, at the age of 5, he recorded his first album, Our Future: 5
Year Old Lucky Peterson and appeared on The Tonight Show and Ed Sullivan Show.
