The Colombian singer Luis Posada was born in the city of Cartago, Valle del
Cauca in 1962. He came from a poor background and during the early 1970s Posada
moved to the bustling city of Medellín in search of a better life. After taking
on a variety of jobs he eventually began to find regular work as a singer and
during the 1980s turned professional playing in venues in and around the
Medellín district.
Posada cites the Ecuadorian guitarist Julio Jaramillo as his main influence and
this is reflected in some of his material. Hits such as 'Me Tomas y me Dejas',
'El Regreso del ...
