In an effort to overcome stagefright and distance himself from his famous father
Louis Chedid, the chronically shy French singer Matthieu Chedid performs under
the stage name '-M-'. Notwithstanding his unsuccessful attempts to avoid the
limelight, Chedid's unusual style of music has a loyal following in his native
France - popular enough to sell half a million copies of his second album 'Je
