Madhushree is an Indian playback singer from Kolkata, West Bengal. Born Sujata
Bhattacharya on November 2, 1969, she was introduced to classical Indian music
by her parents and later continued her studies with Sangeetacharya Pt. Amiya
Ranjan Bandyopadhyay. After moving to Mumbai with the hopes of making it as a
singer in the film industry, she was discovered by poet Javed Akhtar and made
her debut in Rajesh Roshan's 2001 crime drama, Moksha. In 2003, Madhushree sang
