In 1967, she founded Stone The Crows. Thanks to Bell's extraordinary, rocky
vocals, the band established itself as one of the blue chips of British heavy
blues. But in 1973, following the death of guitarist Les Harvey (electrocuted on
stage), Maggie embarked on a solo career as a rhythm'n'blues tenor, recording
with the crème de la crème of studio musicians. But without much success. Since
then, this Scottish cousin of Janis Joplin has put her larynx to good use with
the band Midnight Flyer.
