In existence since 1972, Malavoi is one of the West Indies greats alongside
Kassav'. But Malavoi isn't just a zouk band, it's the inventor of a new kind of
West Indian music nourished by salsa, African music and Caribbean rhythms.
Initially very popular in Martinique and Guadeloupe, Malavoi also enjoyed
success in mainland France with its second incarnation in 1981. The song
"Caressé moin" in 1983 with Marijosé Alie remains their hit single, while their
