With a repertoire that consisted mainly of love ballads and boleros, Argentine
singer and actress María Martha Serra Lima (December 19, 1944) went on to become
one of the most prominent exponents of the canción melódica genre. Born in the
city of Buenos Aires, she began singing professionally at the age of 27
following her father's death. After landing her first major-label contract in
1977, she went on to achieve international fame in 1980 with the chart-topping
single "Dudo Lo Que Pasa (Qué Es Lo Que Tiene Él)," included in her fourth LP
