Canadian adult contemporary and pop singer Marie-Élaine Thibert was born on
April 18, 1982, in the LaSalle district of Montreal, Quebec. She developed an
interest in music during high school and college, participating in several music
competitions. She gained recognition as the runner-up in the first season of the
Quebec singing idol reality show, Star Académie, in 2003. Following Star
Académie, Thibert released her self-titled debut album in early 2004, selling
