Japanese singer-songwriter Masaaki Endoh (遠藤正明) was born on August 28, 1967 in
Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan and has often been referred to by the
nickname "Young Lion of Anison."
After graduating from high school he joined a band called The Hiptones, later
becoming one half of the acoustic duo Short Hopes after The Hiptones parted
ways. He made his debut as a solo artist in 1995 but continued to forge
collaborations throughout the '90s and '00s, becoming involved with the duo
Metal Brothers with Hironobu Kageyama in 1997 and 1998, as well as the group
