Born in Charleroi, Belgium on July 12, 1978, to a Belgian mother and Italian
father, Melanie De Biasio is an acclaimed jazz vocalist, flautist, and composer.
Originally interested in ballet as a child, she became interested in playing the
Western concert flute at the age of eight. By her teen years, she embraced
alternative and classic rock and was briefly a member of a rock band at the age
of 15. Attending the Brussels Royal Conservatory of Jazz, she studied singing
