Mohombi
Swedish singer-songwriter Mohombi Nzasi Moupondo, who goes by just his first
name, was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and grew up in Stockholm
where he played music from a young age and attended the Royal College of Music.
He found success in 2000 with his brother Djo Moupondo in the hip-hop duo
Avalon, who blended African rhythms with dancehall and hip-hop and had several
hits. Mohombi released his debut solo single 'Bumpy Ride' in 2010 and his first
album 'MoveMeant' in 2011. Another album, 'Universe', came out in 2014.
