"Allez les Verts", singer Monty was born Jacques Bulostin in Chezal-Benoît
(Cher) on February 18, 1943. A soccer fan from childhood, he won an inter-school
tournament and hesitated to pursue a career in the sport, eventually opting for
music. Trained as a pianist at the Conservatoire, he passed the Sacem exam and
signed with the Barclay label in 1963. Under the name Monty, he recorded some 15
