Moon Byul-yi (December 22, 1992), better known as MoonByul, is a South Korean
singer-songwriter and MC who rose to fame as the lead rapper for the girl group
Mamamoo. Born in the city of Bucheon, she began studying music at the Paekche
Institute of the Arts in 2011 and then joined Mamamoo in 2014, making her
official recording debut on the album Melting, released in 2016. MoonByul then
became the first member of the group to embark on a solo career in 2018 with the
single “Selfish,” which reached number 84 on the Gaon Music Chart and featured
