Singing duo The Nooran Sisters aka Sultana Nooran (born 14 June 1992) and Jyoti
Nooran (born 24 February 1994) are among the leading exponents of Sufi; the
devotional and ceremonial music of the Sufis, often described as the mystical
dimension of Islam. Raised in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India, they received musical
training under the tutelage of their father Ustad Gulshan Mir (or Meer) –
grandson of Bibi Nooran, a renowned Sufi singer, and son of Swarn Nooran, a Sufi
singer of the 1970s – from an early age and first found fame on MTV India's MTV
