Oliviera Lara, born in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, on December 26, 1968, is
better known as Nuttea or Daddy Nuttea. Arriving in Paris at the age of six, he
was drawn to reggae, which he began playing in the late 1980s with the group
Hi-Fight International, featuring singer Tonton David. He released his first
album, Paris-Kingston-Paris (1993), and made a name for himself four years later
with his duet with Pierpoljak, "Agitateur", before breaking through as a solo
artist with the album Retour aux Sources and his cover of Bob Marley's "Natural
