The Japanese rock band Okamoto's was formed by bassist Tasao Yoshida, drummer
Reiji Miyake, guitarist Kōki Hayashi, and vocalist Shō Īmura in 2006. Inspired
by the avant-garde painter Tarō Okamoto, all four bandmates decided to adopt
"Okamoto" as a surname, as well as the band's name itself. Yoshida left the
lineup in 2009 and was replaced by Ikumi Hamada, who followed the group's
tradition by adopting the revised name "Hama Okamoto." That same year, the debut
album Here Are Okamoto's was released. 10's followed in May 2010 and reached
