OKAMOTO'S

The Japanese rock band Okamoto's was formed by bassist Tasao Yoshida, drummer Reiji Miyake, guitarist Kōki Hayashi, and vocalist Shō Īmura in 2006. Inspired by the avant-garde painter Tarō Okamoto, all four bandmates decided to adopt "Okamoto" as a surname, as well as the band's name itself. Yoshida left the lineup in 2009 and was replaced by Ikumi Hamada, who followed the group's tradition by adopting the revised name "Hama Okamoto."
