An ephemeral project fomented by the four members of U2 and their producer Brian Eno, Passengers lasted only the time of one album, Original Soundtracks 1, released in November 1995. This "imaginary soundtrack" of rock and electro, which sold two million copies, scored a hit on the European charts with the single "Miss Sarajevo", a sad ballad about a war-worn city featuring Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti.
