Pat Metheny Group
The Pat Metheny Group was founded in 1977 by jazz guitarist Pat Metheny (born on
August 12, 1954, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri). Apart from the group’s leader, the
only permanent member of the group throughout their 33-year career was composer
and keyboardist Lyle Mays. Other longtime members included bassist / producer
Steve Rodby (1981-2010) and drummer Antonio Sanchez (2001-2010). Over the course
of their career, the line-up also included bassist Mark Egan, drummer Danny
