Indonesian musical comedy troupe Project Pop initially formed in Bandung in 1996
as a spinoff project from predecessors Project-P but set about carving out their
own lane by writing their own original music. Consisting of seven members –
Hermann Josis Mokalu (Yosi), the late Muhammad Fachroni (O'on), Djoni Permato
(Udjo), Gumilar Nurochman (Gugum), Wahyu Rudi Astadi (Odie), and Kartika Rachel
Setia Redjeki Panggabean (Tika; the only female member) – Project Pop's career
failed to take off at first, with their debut 1996 album, Bakpia vs Lumpia,
released to little fanfare. However...
