Proyecto Uno is a pioneering Dominican-American musical group that has fused
hip-hop, Latin rhythms, and house music since the early 1990s. The group was
formed in New York City by Nelson Zapata, who initially sought to create a blend
of hip-hop and merengue, a popular Dominican dance music. With the incorporation
of Magic Juan Atkins, Johnny Salgado, and Erik Morales, Proyecto Uno evolved
