Formed in Los Angeles, California in 1996, Ra – led by
singer/songwriter/guitarist Sahaj Ticotin - was initially formed as a nu-metal
band but evolved over time into an edgier alternative metal/post-grunge outfit.
Their first official release was the song “Crazy Little Voices”, which appeared
in the 1999 film The Rage: Carrie 2. They signed with Edel Music and began
recording their debut album but as the sessions came to an end, the label shut
