Formed in Mumbai, India in 2010, Sanam is a pop-rock band who combine original
material with covers of classic Bollywood hits. The roots of the band date back
to 2003 when guitarists Samar Puri and Venky S started playing together while
still in school. They brought in Samar’s younger brother Sanam to sing for the
group, eventually moving to Delhi and becoming part of the college rock scene.
After several incarnations of the band, Sanam and Samar joined forces again with
