Born on October 27, 1967 in Santa Cruz, California (USA), Scott Weiland rose to
fame as lead singer of alternative rock band Stone Temple Pilots in the 1990s,
following in the footsteps of the likes of Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Suffering from
multiple addictions, and after numerous stays in rehab, he was finally
discharged and embarked on a solo career in 1998 with the album 12 Bar Blues .
