Before establishing her award-winning blend of American roots music, gypsy jazz,
classic country, old-time swing, and bluegrass, songwriter Sierra Ferrell grew
up in Charleston, West Virginia. She was born on August 3, 1988, and grew up in
relatively poverty. By her early twenties, she had left home and transformed
herself into a musical nomad, busking on street corners in cities like New
