Pop singer and songwriter Simone was born Simone Stelzer on October 1, 1969, in
Vienna, Austria. She began her musical career at the age of 15 in 1984 as the
vocalist in a band called Peter Pan. The group released their debut single, “A
Night in Hippodrome,” in 1985. After several singles with the group, Simone left
the band in the late 1980s to pursue a solo career. Simone made her solo debut
with the single “Lucky Star” in 1988 but didn’t come to prominence until 1990
