Born in Rome on February 5, 1977, Simone Cristicchi is an Italian songwriter,
composer, musician and performer who combines pop and rap in an acoustic style.
After studying history at university, he turned to comics and music, singing in
a rock band before turning his attention to songwriting. He began by opening for
artists such as Max Gazzè and Niccolo Fabi, and in 1997 won the song prize
awarded by the SIAE (Italian Society of Authors and Publishers) for "L'uomo dei
