The reggae outfit SOJA are an American group who come from Arlington, Virginia
in the USA. Arlington is a long way from Trenchtown or Montego Bay but listeners
would never guess when they hear the band's authentic reggae and dub sounds. The
band's name is an acronym for Soldiers of Jah's Army and the idea to form a
reggae band was the brainchild of frontman Jacob Hemphill and bass player Bob
Jefferson.
The band were formed in 1997 and began to steadily build up an enthusiastic fan
base for their music by promotional tours and releasing a series of carefully
