Spoek Mathambo
Initially an alternative rapper with an electro bent, South African Spoek
Mathambo then ventured into more pop territory. Since leaving South Africa in
2006, Spoek Mathambo has lived in Sweden, where he began to make a name for
himself in 2006 with Mshini Wam. While he carefully preserves influences from
his homeland, Spoek Mathambo loves nothing more than to mix it up. In 2012, he
injected a variable dose of pop and dance into Father Creeper, running the risk
of seeing his music tip over into the commercial side of his art.
