An American jazz pianist whose career has been as prolific as it has been innovative, Steve Kuhn followed a classical apprenticeship before making his debut in Kenny Dorham's quintet in 1960. After collaborations with John Coltrane, Stan Getz, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Gary McFarland, Oliver Nelson and Art Farmer, the musician ventured into very different registers, most often in trio(Three Waves in 1966).
