Guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan made headlines with his debut album Texas Flood in
1983. Recruited by David Bowie (he illuminated the best moments of Let's Dance)
and adored by his elders Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton and Albert King, with
whom he recorded the summit encounter In Session, the Texan prodigy only had
time to deliver a handful of albums with his band Double Trouble, before
disappearing in a helicopter accident in 1990. He remains the great blues
revelation of the 1980s and the best guitarist of his generation.
