Stone
Real name Annie Gautrat, singer Stone was born in Paris on July 31, 1947. The
daughter of an operetta singer, she too was drawn to the limelight, and in 1966
took part in the "Miss Beatnik" competition. French singer-songwriter Éric
Charden was on the jury. That same year, he proposed to her, and while Stone had
already embarked on a solo career in the sixties with songs like "Vive la France
" and Serge Gainsbourg's "Buffalo Bill ", the artistic duo Stone et Charden was
formed in 1972. Over the next three years, they racked up a string of hits,
including the famous "L'Avventura"....
