An electro/dance group formed at Cambridge University in 1984, The Beloved
enjoyed success with the tracks "The Rising Sun" and "Hello", before signing a
classic of its era with the album Happiness (1990). Originally a quartet, the
original line-up was reduced to singer Jon Marsh when Conscience (1993) was
released, with the hit "Sweet Harmony". With his wife Helena, he concluded The
Beloved's adventure with a final album, X, released in 1996.
