The Lords of the New Church
This punk, glam and goth rock quartet was born in 1981. The group is made up of
former members of punk bands, and has made a name for itself on stage with their
dantesque shows. Led by Stiv Bators (ex-Dead Boys), surrounded by Brian James
(ex-The Damned), Dave Tregunna (ex-Sham 69) and Nicky Turner (ex-Barracudas),
the Lords of the New Church split up in 1989, after three albums and a decade of
religious symbolism, which sometimes earned them the label of Satanic rockers.
