The Murder Capital
The Murder Capital are, as their name hints, a band with a dark moody sound that
takes cues from the likes of Joy Division. They played their first gig at the
100-capacity Mike the Pies venue in Listowel in March 2018, and just 18 months
later were attracting strong reviews in The Guardian and NME. James McGovern
(vocals), Gabriel Paschal Blake (bass), Diarmuid Brennan (drums), Damien Tuit
(guitar) and Cathal Roper (guitar) met at BIMM music college in Dublin. Their
name was inspired by McGovern's loss of his best friend to suicide, and the
