The American gospel singer Tye Tribbett was born as "Thomas Tyrone "Tye"
Tribbett" on January 26, 1976. A native of Camden, New Jersey, he is best known
for his Grammy-winning solo career, as well as his career-launching run as
co-founder and lead vocalist of the gospel group Tye Tribbett & Greater
Anointing. His parents both worked as ministers during his youth, and Tribbett
launched his career as a background vocalist for other artists (including Justin
