Vampire Weekend is an American indie pop band formed in New York City in 2006 by
Ezra Koenig, Chris Baio, Chris Tomson, and Rostam Batmanglij. Graduating from
Columbia University in 2006, early demos were given away to friends and fans
soon had music blogs talking about a new form of worldly melodic indie pop
emanating from New York in the shape of Vampire Weekend. Signing to XL
Recordings, the band defined their sound as Upper West Side Soweto and released
