Walter Murphy has a highly original career path. Coming from a jazz background,
he went on to compose jingles for television and commercials. In 1976, at the
request of a producer, he recorded a disco track based on Beethoven's Symphony
No. 5. Entitled "Fifth of Beethoven", the track became a hit in the U.S., where
it was even a short-lived number one. in 1977, "Fifth of Beethoven" appeared on
the soundtrack of the cult film Saturday Night Fever, alongside hits by The Bee
