After Vince Clarke left Depeche Mode in 1981, he hooked up with singer Alison
Moyet who herself had just left The Screaming Abdabs. Success was immediate for
the duo with the Number 2 single Only You/Situation, then with Don't Go, which
proved a big hit in the US and achieved major airplay on the newly launched MTV
