The US rapper Yung Joc was born Jasiel Tucker Robinson in Atlanta in 1983 where
his father Stanley ran a hair care products company. As his child's interest in
music grew Stanley used his contacts in the cosmetics trade to persuade Revlon
to commission a jingle from his son. The opportunity provided a springboard for
Robinson to get a foothold in the music business and soon afterwards he founded
his own record label.
Following a meeting with the producer Nikki Beatz in 2005, Robinson and Beatz
