Innovative and celebrated Indian film composer Yuvan Shankar Raja was born August 31, 1979 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The son of composer Ilaiyayaaja, and brother of playback singer Bhavatharini, Yuvan Shankar Raja joined the family business in 1996 at the behest of his mother. His initial recordings earned him a job offer to write music for a trailer to the 1997 movie Aravindhan, and that work was so impressive that the producers hired him to score the entire movie, earning him his first filmi credit at the tender age of 16.
