Hailing from Haarlem in the Netherlands, Yves Berendse is a Dutch pop artist who has built his reputation off the back of a string of hits, including 2016's breakout single "Zin in jou"—which helped him to secure the Buma NL Award for Best Newcomer—"Als ze danst," and "Lust" and "Ik wil alleen maar jou," with the latter offering contained on his debut 2018 album Het einde van het be. 2019 saw the release of "Dicht bij mij" and "Wat een vriend" and the following year, singles "Wil je nietblijven," "Je geven me" and "Laat het los" were also released.
