Zebda
"Tomber la chemise", the anthem of discotheques and campsites, was Zebda's
breakthrough in 1999. The band, originally from Toulouse, had to roll up their
sleeves before reaching No. 1 in the Top 50. Its story is emblematic of the
citizen movements generated by the "quartiers", the "cités", as it is above all
the saga of a band of mixed-race "pals" who don't have their tongues in their
pockets and intend to make it known. After Essence Ordinaire (1998) and Utopie
