Bill Medley was at California State University when he first met Bobby Hatfield. Both magnificent singers, they started performing with the band The Paramours, but it was as the Righteous Brothers duo in 1965 that their careers really took off, achieving their first hit with Medley's song Little Latin Lupe Lu.
